Effects of miR-495 on high glucose-induced imbalance of MMP-TIMP and collagen synthesis in human CFs. CFs were transfected with miR-495 inhibitor or mimic for 48 h, and then treated with 5.5 or 25 mM glucose for 24 h. HG + miR-NC indicates CFs transfected with the miR-495 inhibitor before treatment with high glucose; HG + miR-495 mimic indicates CFs transfected with the miR-495 mimic before treatment with high glucose. a The secreted MMP-2, MMP-9 and TIMP-1 proteins in the supernatants of CFs were detected using ELISA assays. b The mRNA expressions of collagen I and III were determined via quantitative RT-PCR.
