Schematic diagram for the proposed mechanism. During alveolar bone remodeling that is initiated by orthodontic application, mechanical force enhances LRP6 membrane localization in PDLSCs. LRP6 mobilization then facilitates F-actin polymerization and rearrangement and further boosts YAP shuttling to the nucleus. Activated YAP subsequently promotes cell proliferation and osteogenic differentiation and ultimately leads to new bone formation
